We're delighted to have Children's Laureate Wales, Alex Wharton, an award-winning writer, poet, performer and singer song writer, attending this year's Haverfordwest Children's Festival.
"My duty is this...
To encourage reading for pleasure – reading develops the brain and imagination. It builds our vocabulary and our understanding of the world. To encourage writing - Writing helps us explore our own imagination – it’s a fantastic method of self-expression. Creativity is all around us, it’s in the way we choose to live our lives, and I’m a person who thrives on learning new things. I’m a lifelong learner – how fun is that! I hope somewhere, somehow, my work can inspire, entertain, challenge, comfort and empower you."
Join Alex for an inspiring and empowering poetry workshop.
If you'd like a signed copy of Alex's latest book, "Doughnuts, Thieves And Chimpanzees" please email info@childrensfestival.cymru and we'll order a copy for you to buy at the workshop (£6.99.)
Ages 8-14 years.
This is a drop-and-go. Please return to collect your child at the end of the session.
